Brief Overview

Celebrating Inclusion in Mainstream Settings

The Education People are bringing Kent’s 2nd annual SENCO Conference to Maidstone on the 8th October 2024 on behalf of Kent County Council. The conference, hosted by Ruth Gately and Rory Abbott is fully funded by KCC and, as a result, is free to SENCOs from mainstream primary and secondary schools based within Kent.

Daniel Sobel, author of The Inclusive Classroom, will provide our Keynote presentation. In addition, there will be opportunities to share good practice and to network with fellow SENCOs and support professionals from KCC, the NHS and other external agencies.  We will have a range of speakers discussing the SEND landscape across Kent and looking at how collaboration and communication are key to delivering the right support, in the right place at the right time.

We will be hosting a marketplace to give SENCOs the opportunity to interact with the enormous variety of resources and personnel available to support the inclusion agenda in mainstream schools.  There will be workshops available that you can choose from, and we will send correspondence out about this in the coming months.  Due to the overwhelming interest that we received for the 2023 SENCO Conference, we are limiting places to one per school. If we receive more than one booking per school, then we will only accept the registration for the first booking.  We have limited spaces for the event so please do register sooner rather than later.  If you have any questions, then please email Rory Abbott at [email protected]
